A selection of my geometric experiments made over Christmas. Particularly like the 3d looking ones and just starting to play around with blending layers. Its been nice to do some art for myself rather than a restrictive brief and I think they make a nice set. I think there’s something really strong about using primary shapes within graphics, and once you look into it more closely, you find that a lot of more complex shapes are made either from primary ones, or using angles of primary ones. Its an area I’d like to develop more into my graphics work, and I can see patterns like this working really well with some nice type. I already have an idea of where I’d like to go with the next competition briefs.

Also had a piece of my work featured on the Curioos Arts blog over Christmas which was cool, and a bit of a confidence boost - http://submit.curioos.com/post/14622674302/graham-bowes-uk
